Spawning from the concrete-bound streets of South East London, the enigma-turned-rapper VGO sees 2022 as his for the taking. The UK-based spitter first turned heads with his trap-soaked smash “Suttin’ Special” in 2020—accumulating well over 300,000 streams on Spotify—before returning with his rap character studies “Roddy Richh” and “Dave Chappelle”, respectively. Despite dropping a handful of singles in 2021, VGO found himself remoulding his creativity last year, blessing fans with his nonchalant drill-focused effort “Winter” in January 2022. Anchoring itself as the prelude to his five-track ‘Vagabond’ EP, “Winter” is a stylish, drillified snapshot into VGO’s psyche.
Whether helming pensive storytelling tracks, speaker-busting trap anthems or skippy, head-bopping drill tunes, VGO refused to be boxed into a corner—befitting of the ‘Vagabond’ moniker. A firm believer in letting music talk for itself, ‘Vagabond’ sees VGO step into the realms of psychedelia, textured-ridden melody and lo-fi embellishments.
